In the fourth year of college, an introduction to Jacquard was a two weeks course where we did a live project with Neptune House Furnishings Pvt. Ltd, Ahmedabad. We were given a brief of the clientele and were guided throughout the process of jacquard weaving. For me, the clientele belonged to high economic strata of United Arab Emirates. Below are some images of the samples produced by the end of the course followed by the design process.
Conceptualization of how the fabrics could be used as upholstery.
My moodboard was inspired from an architectural piece, Burj Jumeirah, which is proposed to be completed by 2026 in Sufouh district of Dubai.
Initial hand painted artworks and textures out of which only a few were taken ahead to create patterns which were then woven.
Changed colour palette with which the final four patterns were created.
